Start with a review of your St. Johns County document
Contact Miami Dade Apostille with a copy of your document, the destination, the receiving institution's instructions and your deadline. A birth certificate, recorded marriage license, court judgment or college transcript can require different preparation. Send required originals or certified copies to our team only after we confirm the format and delivery instructions.
What the apostille process involves
Obtaining the underlying record is one stage. Certification or notarization, authority processing, translation and any further legalization can be separate stages. An apostille authenticates an official signature or seal; it does not establish the truth of every statement or guarantee acceptance for every purpose. Miami Dade Apostille coordinates the agreed processing while you confirm the recipient's requirements.
Processing time and eligible same-day service
Standard state processing can take months. Miami Dade Apostille offers processing as soon as the same day for eligible documents. Contact us to confirm availability. Missing records, corrections, preparation, translation and shipping have separate schedules. Federal processing and additional legalization are not guaranteed for the same day. Share the complete deadline with our team before arranging delivery.
Birth and death records in St. Augustine
The local vital-record office is at 200 San Sebastian View, St. Augustine, FL 32084. Call 904-506-6081. The current office and certificate pages list Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m.; confirm the certificate counter's availability and last-request time before traveling. Bring the required identification and record information. A building's opening hours do not guarantee that every certificate can be issued during your visit.
Older and restricted vital records
The county lists Florida birth records from 1930 onward and death records from 2009 onward. Its instructions direct earlier and sealed birth records to the Bureau of Vital Statistics, and earlier death records to the Bureau or VitalChek. Access to cause-of-death information is restricted. Confirm the year and certificate version with the custodian, then ask Miami Dade Apostille to review the proposed format for overseas use.
Ask about local pickup before making the trip
Ask the St. Augustine vital office whether your specific record can be issued during a visit. Availability depends on the record, eligibility and any corrections or additional review. Same-day collection is not a promise for every request and is separate from apostille processing. After the record is ready, send it to Miami Dade Apostille only after our review and confirmed delivery instructions.
Online vital-record ordering through VitalChek
VitalChek is a third-party ordering service authorized by Florida's health department for eligible vital records. It can be useful when an office visit is impractical. Ordering a certificate does not automatically include an apostille, and record and delivery charges are separate from our services. Contact Miami Dade Apostille before choosing the format and delivery destination for your service order.
Order vital records online through VitalChek ↗Clerk records at the Richard O. Watson Judicial Center
For court-copy and records questions, the Clerk lists the Richard O. Watson Judicial Center at 4010 Lewis Speedway, St. Augustine, FL 32084, weekdays 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Call 904-819-3600 to confirm the correct department and collection arrangements. Provide the case number or enough information to identify the record. Our team can review the requested document before you order it.
Marriage-service locations and recorded copies
The Clerk's marriage page identifies the Public Service Center at 4040 Lewis Speedway, St. Augustine, FL 32084, separately from the Judicial Center at 4010. It also lists the Julington Creek Annex at 725 Flora Branch Boulevard, St. Johns, FL 32259, and Ponte Vedra Beach Annex at 151 Sawgrass Corners Drive, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL 32082. Annex services require appointments; confirm the available copy service and schedule before traveling.
Use the marriage record from the issuing county
For a license issued and recorded in St. Johns County, a certified copy can be obtained through the Clerk. If the license came from a different county or state, the appropriate issuing office holds that record. Make sure the completed marriage has been recorded. Contact Miami Dade Apostille before selecting a copy for international use; a decorative certificate is not automatically the required certified record.
Divorce judgments, orders and complete certified documents
Tell the Clerk which final judgment or order the recipient requires. A divorce certificate, judgment and case summary serve different purposes. The Clerk certifies the complete filed document, rather than selected pages from it. Confirm paper or electronic format with Miami Dade Apostille before ordering so our team can coordinate the appropriate processing after the required record is ready.
Electronic certification does not replace an apostille
St. Johns offers electronic certification for eligible court documents and Official Records, including final judgments and recorded marriage licenses. Some court documents need review and release first. A free online image is different from a certified copy. Electronic certification alone is not an apostille or a guarantee that a foreign institution will accept the format. Ask our team to review that choice before purchase.
Older records may need an archive request
Not every historical court file is available on the public website. The Clerk distinguishes modern records from archival material and offers public terminals and records requests for material that is not online. Ask the Clerk about the particular file and its availability. Confirm any extra preparation time with Miami Dade Apostille before relying on an urgent deadline.
School records: locate the department and use the current request route
The school district identifies its Student Records Office at the Evelyn Hamblen Center, 1 Christopher Street, St. Augustine, FL 32084; 40 Orange Street is the district mailing address. Call 904-547-7133 or 904-547-7137 for records questions. The current district request page directs PK–12 requests through its secure online portal and says email and fax requests are not accepted. Confirm any in-person arrangements before visiting.
The last school attended and the kind of record matter
The district's records department describes handling former students who last attended three or more years ago, with more recent records referred to the school. Its collection can include transcripts, graduation verification and certain other school records; availability and release authorization vary. GED, home-education and virtual-school records can follow different routes. Contact the records office and Miami Dade Apostille before choosing the document for international use.
St. Johns River State College in St. Augustine
SJR State's St. Augustine Campus is at 2990 College Drive, St. Augustine, FL 32084; the campus number is 904-808-7400. The college's Records/Transcripts department lists 386-312-4050 and [email protected] for questions. Official transcript orders use Parchment, and phone orders are unavailable. An enrollment verification or unofficial transcript is a different document. Confirm delivery and any separate certification needs; a campus visit is not a guarantee of immediate transcript pickup.
Flagler College transcripts and replacement diplomas
Flagler College's current Registrar contact page lists the physical office at 20 Valencia Street in St. Augustine, with a separate mailing address of 74 King Street, St. Augustine, FL 32084. Call 904-819-6207 or email [email protected]. Posted office hours are Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–4 p.m., closed noon–1 p.m. for lunch and on college holidays. The Registrar uses Parchment for transcripts and replacement diplomas. Confirm preparation and delivery options before visiting or ordering.
Notarized documents and Remote Online Notarization
Powers of attorney, affidavits, sworn statements and business documents can need different signature, witness or notarization arrangements. Contact Miami Dade Apostille before signing when those requirements are unclear. We offer Remote Online Notarization for eligible documents, subject to identity checks and recipient requirements. A complete notarial certificate matters; a notarized photocopy does not automatically replace a record certified by its authorized custodian.
Florida documents, other states and federal records
The issuing authority determines the processing route, not where you live. Our team coordinates the appropriate authority submission for eligible Florida documents, records from other states and federal documents. FBI Identity History Summaries follow federal processing through the U.S. Department of State. Your destination can require an apostille or a further authentication and legalization sequence. Translation may be separate; contact us to review the complete service.
