Start with the record you need to use abroad

A Palatka birth certificate, a Putnam court judgment and a St. Johns River State College transcript come from different custodians. Contact Miami Dade Apostille with copies, your destination and the recipient's instructions. We review the format and coordinate the agreed preparation and processing. Send required originals or certified copies to our team only after we confirm delivery instructions.

Why document preparation has more than one stage

Obtaining an official record and authenticating it for international use are separate steps. The issuing office supplies the record; an apostille authenticates the relevant official signature or seal. Translation or further legalization may also be required. An apostille does not establish that every recipient will accept a document for every purpose. Confirm the recipient's requirements while our team coordinates the agreed services.

Processing time and eligible same-day service

Standard state processing can take months. Miami Dade Apostille offers processing as soon as the same day for eligible documents. Contact us to confirm availability. Record issuance, corrections, preparation, translation and shipping have separate schedules. Federal processing and further legalization are not guaranteed for the same day. Share your full deadline with our team before sending documents.

Palatka vital-record office

Putnam's vital-record office is at 2801 Kennedy Street, Palatka, FL 32177. Call 386-326-3265. Its certificate guidance lists Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Confirm the current counter hours, identification and eligibility for your particular record before visiting. This is a place to obtain an underlying certificate; Miami Dade Apostille coordinates your separate apostille service.

Confirm hours and eligibility before visiting: Call 386-326-3265 before traveling to 2801 Kennedy Street. Counter hours and record availability can vary. This office issues the underlying certificate; apostille processing is a separate service coordinated by Miami Dade Apostille.

Ask about pickup for your particular certificate

Local pickup may help you obtain a needed record, but the current county guidance does not guarantee that every request can be completed during the same visit. Ask about availability before traveling. An older entry, a sealed record or a correction may need additional handling. Contact Miami Dade Apostille before ordering for overseas use, then send the required record to us using our confirmed instructions.

Birth certificates and the year of the record

Putnam's county guidance lists local Florida birth certificates from 1930 onward and directs earlier or sealed records to the Bureau of Vital Statistics. Confirm the exact year and available version with the office rather than assuming every Florida record can be printed at the local counter. A birth registered outside Florida must come from its own issuing jurisdiction. Our team can review the format before you order.

Death certificates and access to the requested version

The county lists local Florida death certificates from 2009 onward, with older records handled through the appropriate state vital-record or VitalChek route. Access rules differ for certificates with cause-of-death information. Ask the custodian about the version requested by the recipient, your eligibility and any identification needed. Do not assume that every applicant can obtain every version.

VitalChek for online vital-record orders

VitalChek is a third-party online ordering service authorized by Florida's health department. It can be an alternative to visiting a vital-record counter. Certificate and delivery charges are separate from Miami Dade Apostille's services. Ordering a certificate does not automatically include an apostille; contact our team to coordinate the document format and delivery plan.

Putnam Clerk customer service in Palatka

The Clerk lists records, recording and marriage services at the Customer Service Center in the Tim Smith Building, 107 N. 6th Street, Palatka, FL 32177. This is different from the courtrooms at 410 St. Johns Avenue. General office hours are 8:30 a.m.–5 p.m.; some services stop earlier. Call 386-326-7600 to confirm your division, current hours and certified-copy arrangements before visiting.

Customer service and courtrooms are at different addresses: Records, recording and marriage services are at the Tim Smith Building, 107 N. 6th Street. The courtrooms at 410 St. Johns Avenue serve a different function. Call 386-326-7600 to confirm the right location for your request before traveling.

Clerk satellite offices have different schedules

The Clerk lists a front-lobby office at 2509 Crill Avenue, Suite 300, Palatka, FL 32177, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5 p.m.; Crescent City at 115 N. Summit Street, FL 32112, on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 9 a.m.–4:30 p.m.; and Interlachen at 1114 State Road 20, FL 32148, on Tuesday and Thursday, 9 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Confirm that your chosen location handles the record and service you need before traveling.

Satellite offices operate on limited weekly schedules: Crill Avenue (Mon/Wed/Fri), Crescent City (Tue/Wed/Thu), Interlachen (Tue/Thu). Not every location handles every record type. Confirm the service and schedule before traveling to a satellite office.

Request the completed marriage record

For a marriage license issued by Putnam, ask the Clerk for a certified copy of the completed, recorded marriage record. The officiant must return the completed license for recording before that record is available. An unrecorded license or decorative certificate is not automatically the required evidence of marriage. Share the recipient's instructions with Miami Dade Apostille before purchasing the copy for international use.

Court judgments, divorce decrees and probate papers

A divorce certificate and a certified final divorce judgment are different documents. When a recipient asks for a decree or court order, identify the exact case document, using the case number and names when available. The Clerk's Records line is 386-326-7690. Its main office asks people to call rather than email about court cases. Restricted files or older material may need extra review; ask about access and collection arrangements.

Recorded death copies are different from vital certificates

The Clerk explains that a death certificate already recorded in its records may be copied, but Social Security numbers and health information are redacted. That copy is not automatically interchangeable with the vital-record certificate required by an overseas recipient. Contact Miami Dade Apostille to review the requested document and use the vital-record custodian when that is the version needed.

Recorded death copies have redacted information: The Clerk's recorded death-certificate copies have Social Security numbers and health information redacted. This is not the same as a vital-record certificate. Confirm which version the recipient requires before ordering; use the vital-record custodian at 2801 Kennedy Street when a full vital certificate is needed.

Official Records and electronic certification

Putnam's Clerk provides Official Records searches and a service to certify eligible Official Records. A search image is not itself a certified copy. Before choosing an electronic certificate or printing a digital file, contact our team to review the format required for the intended authority and destination. Do not assume that the same electronic option applies to every court document or that every foreign recipient accepts it.

Putnam school transcripts and replacement diplomas

The Putnam County School District directs student-record and transcript requests through Parchment. Its Student Services contact is at 200 Reid Street, Palatka, FL 32177, phone 386-329-0538. The district provides separate guidance for diploma requests and GED records. Call about your school, graduation year and collection arrangements; the address is not a guarantee of immediate transcript pickup. Miami Dade Apostille can review the intended format before you order.

Confirm custodian and delivery arrangements before visiting: Student Services at 200 Reid Street is the district contact for student records. Call 386-329-0538 to confirm the correct school, format and collection arrangements for your record. The address is not a guarantee of immediate transcript pickup.

St. Johns River State College records

SJR State's Palatka campus is at 5001 St. Johns Avenue, Palatka, FL 32177. Contact the Records Office at 386-312-4050 about official college records and any preparation requested for international use. The college uses Parchment for official transcript orders and says phone orders are no longer available. An unofficial student-portal transcript is different from an official transcript. Confirm the required delivery format and any institution certification with our team and the college; do not assume same-day campus pickup.

Parchment orders only — phone orders no longer available: SJR State's Records Office (386-312-4050) uses Parchment for official transcript orders. Phone orders are no longer accepted. An unofficial student-portal printout is not an official transcript. Do not assume same-day campus pickup; confirm delivery format and any additional preparation with our team before ordering for overseas use.

Notarized statements, affidavits and powers of attorney

Contact Miami Dade Apostille before signing a document that may need notarization or witnesses. We offer Remote Online Notarization for eligible documents, subject to identity checks and recipient requirements. Florida notarized documents need an appropriate complete notarial certificate in English. Notarizing an ordinary photocopy does not replace a vital or court record that must be certified by its proper custodian.

Florida, other-state and federal documents

A document's issuer matters more than where you currently live. Our team coordinates the appropriate Florida or other-state route for state-issued records and reviews the preparation of privately signed or business documents. FBI Identity History Summaries follow federal processing through the U.S. Department of State. Further legalization may be needed for some destinations. Those authority processes have separate timelines and are not covered by an automatic same-day promise.
