Remote Online Notarization Outside the United States
Yes. We offer remote online notarization for clients signing outside the United States. We use biometric identity verification and confirm your ID, document, signing-location rules and recipient requirements before the session. Contact Miami Dade Apostille to review your options.
Start with your actual location during the signing, not only your home address. The country where you will be, your identification, the available verification process and the recipient's requirements all need to be checked before booking.

Can I use a Florida online notary while outside the U.S.?
Florida permits an online notary public who is physically in Florida to perform a compliant online notarization when the signer is elsewhere. The signer outside Florida must consent to a Florida notarial act under Florida law. This does not establish permission under every foreign country's laws or guarantee recipient acceptance. (Florida Statutes §117.265)
The U.S. Department of State advises a person abroad to check the relevant U.S. state and foreign destination's rules before using remote notarization. Tell us exactly where you will be so the appropriate checks can be made. (U.S. DOS — Notarial and Authentication Services Abroad)
Three locations to identify before your appointment
Where you will be when you sign
This is your physical signing location. If your travel plans change, tell us before the session. A residential address is not a substitute for disclosing that you are signing from another country.
Where the online notary will be
For the Florida online-notary route described here, the notary must be physically in Florida. You are not asking a Florida notary to travel abroad to perform the act.
Where the document will be used
A person signing overseas might be sending the document to a U.S. bank, business or other recipient. A different person may need it for an institution abroad. Those uses can have different format, platform and authentication requirements. Tell us the recipient and destination before selecting a service.
Does my document need a connection to the United States?
Tell us whether the document is for a U.S. recipient, property, proceeding or transaction, or whether it is solely for use abroad. Some providers or transactions impose their own permitted-use rules. Those rules must be checked for the actual session; they should not be confused with a universal Florida statutory requirement.
A platform accepting a foreign passport does not necessarily mean it permits documents intended exclusively for foreign use. Do not book until the document purpose is confirmed as eligible.
What identification should I prepare?
For a signer outside the United States, Florida law allows a foreign passport without a U.S. immigration stamp as an identification credential. Identity verification still applies, and support for the specific passport and country must be confirmed. (Florida Statutes §117.201)
If you have a U.S. passport or another identification document, tell us what it is. Do not assume that any government-issued document is supported simply because it has your photograph. You do not need to include an ID number or passport scan in an initial inquiry.
For questions specifically about citizenship or the absence of a Social Security number, see our dedicated non-U.S.-citizen and no-SSN pages.
Prepare for a session across time zones
Before requesting an appointment, provide:
- Your signing country and local time zone.
- The document type and recipient's written signing instructions.
- The ID type and issuing country.
- The number of signers and any required witnesses.
- The country where the completed document will be used.
- Whether the recipient requires an original paper document or accepts electronic delivery.
Review my overseas appointment requirements
If online notarization is not suitable
Ask the recipient which alternatives it accepts. Depending on your situation, options to investigate may include an appropriate professional in the country where you are located or an in-person notarial appointment at a U.S. embassy or consulate. U.S. consular appointments are available to customers of all nationalities, but the State Department does not offer remote or virtual consular notarial services. (U.S. DOS — Notarial Services Abroad)
Do not change routes without checking the recipient's instructions. Different routes can lead to different authentication and delivery requirements. See also our international notarization page for a broader overview of cross-border document options.

Yes. Contact Miami Dade Apostille about our biometric identity-verification option. A failed check on another platform does not automatically rule out our service. We will review your identification, document and signing location; successful verification is still required.
Not necessarily. A qualifying online session may avoid travel, but eligibility depends on the applicable location, identification, platform and document requirements. Confirm those before booking.
We do not promise service from every country. Local rules, platform support and the receiving organization's requirements must be reviewed for your location.
No. Apostille or other authentication is a separate process when required. Discuss the destination and final format before signing.
Only if the recipient accepts the proposed remote process and all applicable requirements are met. Do not assume an online session satisfies an instruction expressly requiring a consular act.
