Remote Online Notarization Without a Social Security Number

Miami Dade Apostille offers remote online notarization without a U.S. Social Security number using biometric identity verification. We serve U.S. and international clients. Contact us with your document type, signing location and identification details to confirm the requirements for your session.

A Social Security number is not required for this service, but identity verification is. Your identification, document and signing circumstances must meet the applicable requirements.

Check your no-SSN eligibility

Tell us your document type, signing country, ID issuing country and where the document will be used. Do not include your full ID number or send a passport image in your initial message.

Can I notarize online without an SSN?

Yes. Miami Dade Apostille offers remote online notarization without a Social Security number. Valid identification and the required verification steps still apply, and your document and signing circumstances must qualify. Contact us before booking to confirm what to prepare. (Florida Statutes §117.265; §117.295)

What "no Social Security number" means

A no-SSN session is not an anonymous session. It does not mean you can skip identity checks, use someone else's identification or sign for another person without the necessary authority.

If your identity cannot be verified through an available, compliant process, the online notarization cannot proceed.

What to prepare before you book

  • Your document type and any instructions from the person or organization receiving it.
  • Your physical location during the appointment.
  • Your ID type and issuing country, so its eligibility can be checked.
  • A device with a camera and microphone and a reliable internet connection.
  • The number of signers and any witness requirements stated in your document instructions.
  • Your intended destination country if you also need an apostille review.
Ask the recipient whether it accepts an electronically signed, remotely notarized document before booking. Do not assume a valid notarization automatically satisfies every recipient's format or submission requirements.

How to request a no-SSN appointment

1. Ask for an eligibility review

Tell Miami Dade Apostille that you do not have a Social Security number. Describe the document, your signing location and the identification you can present.

2. Confirm the available verification route

Before you book, ask which identity checks apply and whether your ID and location are supported. A platform's general advertising does not establish eligibility for your particular session.

3. Complete the approved online process

If your request is eligible, follow the appointment instructions and complete the required identity verification and live audio-video session. Ask for instructions before signing in advance.

4. Check any next steps for use abroad

If the receiving organization asks for an apostille or another authentication, confirm that separately. An online notarial certificate is not an apostille.

Review my signing requirements

Signing from outside Florida or outside the United States

A Florida online notary public must be physically in Florida when performing the act. The signer can be elsewhere, subject to the applicable requirements. A signer outside Florida must consent to having the act performed by a Florida notary under Florida law. (Florida Statutes §117.265)

For a signer physically outside the United States, Florida law allows a foreign passport without a U.S. immigration stamp to serve as the identification credential. That specific exception does not establish that every passport, country or platform is supported, and it does not eliminate identity proofing. Tell us where you will actually be, not only where you live. (Florida Statutes §117.201)

For more detail on signing from abroad, see our page on remote online notarization outside the United States.

Online notarization and apostilles are separate steps

An apostille authenticates the signature of the relevant public official or notary. Florida's competent authority issues Florida apostilles; a private service provider does not issue them. (Florida DOS Apostille FAQ)

If your document will be used abroad, ask Miami Dade Apostille about the document format and destination requirements before the notarization. Whether an online document can follow the required authentication route must be checked for your case. See also our online apostille services page.
