Indiana apostille services for documents used abroad
A move, overseas study application or family matter can involve several documents with different issuing offices. Miami Dade Apostille can review your document type and destination, explain the preparation needed and coordinate the appropriate process. We are a private coordinator, not a government issuing office or law firm.
Before you start
- Identify the document type and the office that issued it.
- Confirm the destination country's treaty relationship and the receiving authority's requirements.
- Send us a scan for preparation review before committing originals.
Indiana authentication and your destination
- Indiana has used one certificate format for apostille and authentication requests since July 1, 2022.
- That unified format does not make every destination a Hague Convention destination. Confirm the applicable route and the receiving authority's requirements before submission.
Obtain the right certified record
- Birth and death records are available through Indiana vital-record offices, subject to identification and eligibility requirements.
- If the recipient requests a long-form birth certificate, order it from the state; it contains available details beyond the standard certificate.
- Tell the recipient which version you have before ordering another copy.
Marriage certificates and divorce decrees
- For a certified marriage certificate, contact the county court clerk where the license was issued. Indiana's state Record of Marriage is a different product; confirm which one the overseas recipient requires.
- For a divorce decree, contact the county clerk where the divorce was granted.
- A search result or personal photocopy is not the same as a clerk-certified record.
School records and private documents
- Ask your school about an official's notarized certification of a diploma or transcript. Confirm the destination's preferred school-record format.
- Powers of attorney and affidavits need a properly completed notarial certificate.
- Certified birth, death, marriage and divorce records do not need added notarization.
Submitting to Indiana
- Use the current request form, identify the destination and provide eligible originals or certified copies.
- Mail requests need a stamped return envelope; overnight return requires a prepaid airbill.
- Check the official page for in-person appointments, current fees and processing conditions. Do not detach an issued authentication certificate.

| POA / affidavit | Properly completed notarial certificate; then Indiana Secretary of State. |

Planning with Miami Dade Apostille
- Send the document type, issuing office, destination and deadline for an initial review. We can help identify missing certifications, coordinate submission and discuss translation needs, including qualified translators.
- Do not assume that an apostille alone satisfies a recipient's language, document-age or substantive requirements.
- Eligible private documents may use our Florida RON service subject to Florida identity, witness, document and recipient requirements. Florida notarization follows Florida authentication routing and does not reclassify an Indiana public record.
Working toward a deadline? Send us a scan before committing originals — we can review requirements and help coordinate the correct process. If mailing, use a trackable shipping method and keep your tracking number.
