Where Can I Get an Apostille in Miami?
This is one of the most common questions we receive. The short answer: apostilles are not issued in Miami. But Miami Dade Apostille handles the entire process for you from our Miami-Dade offices — you never need to leave Miami.
Apostilles Are Not Issued in Miami-Dade County
The Florida Secretary of State — located in Tallahassee — is the only authority that can apostille Florida-issued documents. There is no apostille office in Miami-Dade County, Broward County, or anywhere in South Florida. The Miami-Dade Clerk of Courts, the Miami-Dade County government, and local notary offices cannot issue apostilles.
What About the US Department of State?
Federal documents — FBI background checks, federal court records, naturalization certificates — are apostilled by the US Department of State in Washington, DC. There is no US Department of State apostille office in Miami.
